Residential Roofing

Hurricane Florence 2018. Missing shingles

Shingle Repair vs Replacement

After a storm we always get the question… should we replace or repair our roof?

There’s variables that’ll need to be considered.

  • Age of roof
  • Amount of damage.
  • Wind uplift
  • Water damage
  • Structural damage

If the roof is between 10-14yrs old then it’s time for a new roof.

If you have more than 25% of your roof damaged. It’s time for a new roof.

If the storm had extremely strong wind gust that caused wind-uplift then it’s time for a new roof.

If you had a lot of water damage to the ceiling it’s time for a new roof.

Structural damage you’ll need to look at replacing either that one side of the roof or both depending on the structural damages such as how big of a hole did the tree put in the roof.

Either way we can help get you back to normal again. Give us a call to have our estimator’s come out and look at your roof to see what is best for you and your home.

Hurricane Florence 2018. Siding damaged

Siding Repair vs Replacement

We’ll work with your insurance company to do the right thing for you.

When it comes to siding it’s not the same as roofing. Roofing products for the most part stay pretty consistent. It’s not always the case with siding. The manufactures come and go and the manufactures change up styles and colors on a regular bases. Mostly because of the improved technology and testing practices that siding manufactures put their products through.

Shingle replacement vs Repair

  • Age
  • Style/brand
  • Still manufactured
  • Amount of damage

If the manufacture is still manufacturing the style and brand and your missing one or two pieces of siding then the best thing you can do is repair the siding vs replace it. However, if the manufacture isn’t in business any longer than it’s time to look at replacing the siding. Now sometimes you can find a manufacture who will agree to spec out what you have and manufacture a certain amount of pieces of siding that your requesting. This may come at a price, but you can get it replaced if you really are stuck on that design you’ve had there for years.

The amount of damage speaks for itself.

Either way we can have one of our estimators come out and guide you through the process.

Hurricane Florence 2018. Tarp protection.

Residential/Commercial – Emergency Tarp Service

Water leaks that go unaddressed or just putting a bucket underneath to catch the water is not the proper method of dealing with the damages.

Your insurance company can refuse to pay for any repairs or replacement because of your neglect. Its up to you as the homeowner or business owner to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Before you start doing this you need to take pictures of the damage or damages. Record the time and date the leak started. Was it storm related? Did a tree fall on your home or business? Did an animal create the opening?

The easiest way to handle this is to call us. We can have one of our water damage specialist come over and spot the damaged area and tarp the roof or area that the water is coming in through.

Your insurance company may reimburse you for the tarp and labor expense. All you’ll need to do is ask your agent/adjuster when they come to inspect your roof or siding for damages. We’ll supply you with a copy of your invoice with the amount paid. This of course will need to be paid by you the insured.

Give us a call immediately for this service to protect your property and contents.
